Alison Smith

Alison R. Smith is Managing Director at Cornerstone Capital, a leading registered investment advisor in the impact investing space. Cornerstone’s investment advisory services supports clients by providing sustainable investment portfolio solutions that are aligned with their specific environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Alison served as Vice President of Marketing and Membership at TIGER 21, a financial think tank. Alison succeeded in growing TIGER 21 by 30% year over year during her tenure. Alison developed and managed marketing and public relations initiatives. Before joining TIGER 21, Alison worked at Marina Maher Communications, where she focused on media relations and contributed to the development of marketing and branding plans. She also worked at the United Nations Association, where she coordinated and oversaw events across the nation, represented UNA at public speaking events, researched and wrote articles, and managed relationships with partners. Alison is a graduate from Fordham University Graduate School of Business with an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing. She earned her B.A. at Ithaca College. Alison serves on the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Advisory Board and regularly gives time as a mentor of a teen mother through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Alison and her husband live in Manhattan with their children and puppy.

Describe the Impact of a Project you’re focused on.

I’m focused on growing the impact investing movement and making it easy for investors to align their investment portfolios with their values.

What results do you hope for when the impact is amplified?

I hope we are able to put significant (Billions) dollars to work to meat the UN SDGs.

What do you have to offer as a connector? What can you give as expertise to others?

We are an allocator, and I’m happy to have my due diligence team review investments. I also personally have a significant network and am happy to be a connector. I’m very knowledgeable about impact investing, specifically I focus on investments to combat climate change and gender equality.
