Katie Hunt-Morr
Katie Hunt-Morr is the Director of Community at Virgin Unite, growing a thriving business within the Virgin corporate and Branson family foundation, connecting the resources of Virgin Unite’s community of high-net-worth philanthropists, heads of industry, influencers and nonprofit partners to solve large scale social and environmental issues. She is also the co-founder and director of Jiamini.org, a nonprofit empowering brilliant students in need to build a bright future for themselves, lead their communities, and break the cycle of poverty.
She originated and served as head of Etsy’s Values & Impact team, a bottom-up and top-down system to embed social impact and sustainability across products, company practices, and culture.
Katie held several positions in media, the last of which was directing and leading Reuters TV, print, and digital media business for the Australia Pacific region. During her eight years at Reuters, she founded Thomson Reuters first ecological initiative, served as the chair of the Pacific for Women@Thomson Reuters, was a founding board member of the Thomson Reuters Council on CSR and the Thomson Reuters Council on Diversity.
She is a member of the B Team’s 100% Human at Work Council, an RSA Fellow, a member of enso’s Shared Mission think tank, and the Impact Driven Philanthropy Collective, headed by the Raikes Foundation.
She has received the United Way Women in Philanthropy Award, the DUMBO Dozen Award, Yellow Do Good Dozen, and the Thomson Reuters Women to Watch, Community Champion, and Emerging Women in Leadership Awards.
She has several publications, including Etsy’s annual Progress Report, 2012-2015.
Most importantly, she is passionate optimist dedicated to driving progress for people and the planet.
